Surgical Services

The five areas of service that make up the Surgical Services department are surgery, pre-operative holding area, post-anesthesia care unit, special procedures room, and central sterile supply. Surgery has four operating suites. The types of surgery provided are General, Urological, Gynecological, Orthopedic, Plastic, Vascular, ENT, and Endoscopic.

The post-anesthesia care unit cares for not only post-surgical patients, but also patients following special procedures. Gastrointestinal endoscopy procedures are the most common procedure. The department addresses the dynamics and complexity of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients needing surgical procedures 24 hours a day. The department is functionally segregated from other hospital units and is staffed and equipped with the necessary specialized equipment to meet the needs of those patients requiring surgery.
