Chino Valley Medical Center Names New Chief Executive Officer

Chino, Calif., May 28, 2021Chino Valley Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Parrish Scarboro as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Chino Valley Medical Center is a member of Prime Healthcare, an award-winning health system based in Ontario, CA with 46 hospitals in 14 states.

Scarboro joined Prime Healthcare in March 2018 as CEO of San Dimas Community Hospital, and soon after, he took the helm of nearby Glendora Community Hospital (now Glendora Oaks Behavioral Health Hospital). Before joining Prime, he served as Chief Operating Officer for Ochsner Baptist Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, overseeing the 195-bed hospital, medical group, and 18 clinics. Prior to his experience with Ochsner, Scarboro served as the Chief Operating Officer at Corona Regional Medical Center in Corona, CA, with oversight of the 160-bed acute care hospital, a 37-bed acute psychiatric hospital, and a 39-bed skilled nursing facility. His career in Southern California also includes working for the Southern California Permanente Medical Group in Riverside as Assistant Medical Group Administrator and at Tenet-owned JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio as Chief Operating Officer. Scarboro earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix and is certified as a radiologic technologist.

Throughout his tenure with Prime, Scarboro has demonstrated success in creating a culture of clinical excellence that resulted in San Dimas receiving the Leapfrog A award for six consecutive quarters and “100 Top Hospital” designation in 2019 from Fortune/IBM Watson Health, multiple successful regulatory and accreditation surveys, and stabilization of the hospitals’ leadership team. Scarboro also led the conversion of Glendora Community Hospital to a dedicated behavioral health facility in 2019 and led efforts to double the bed capacity of the hospital earlier this year.

“Parrish has proven to be an authentic leader who is goal-driven, transparent, and consistent,” said Sunny Bhatia, MD, CEO Region I and Corporate Chief Medical Officer of Prime Healthcare. “I am confident Chino Valley Medical Center will thrive under Scarboro’s new expanded leadership role as he continues to grow service lines, strengthen partnerships within the community, and focus on the quality comprehensive care and safety of our patients.”

“I couldn’t be more honored to lead the team at Chino Valley Medical Center,” said Scarboro. “I am dedicated to our mission to provide compassionate, quality care to patients and am a strong advocate for a healthier community, especially during these unprecedented times. Chino Valley Medical Center has an excellent team in place and I am confident they will continue to provide excellent care to the Chino Valley community as we get through the aftermath of the pandemic.”
