(Chino, CA – June 16, 2017) – Chino Valley Medical Center announced today that it has been named one of America’s 100 Great Community Hospitals in 2017, according to a study released this month by Becker’s Hospital Review.
“I congratulate and thank our employees and physicians for their vital role in delivering excellent, compassionate care to all members of our community,” said James M. Lally, DO, MMM, President and Chief Medical Officer of Chino Valley Medical Center. “We are very pleased to be nationally recognized once again by Becker’s, and to reassure our community that they can count on Chino Valley to deliver the services they need now and in the future."
The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on rankings and awards from organizations such as the National Rural Health Association, iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics, Healthgrades, CareChex, the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and The Leapfrog Group.
Becker’s has published a version of this list annually since 2011. For the purposes of this list, Becker’s defines a ‘community hospital’ as one with fewer than 550 beds that have minimal teaching programs. Hospitals included on the Becker’s list are recognized for quality, patient satisfaction and overall excellence and play a key role in their communities as the centerpiece for health care in many occasions.
Chino Valley Medical Center has received numerous awards for quality patient care over the years. Chino Valley is one of only two hospitals in San Bernardino County to be named among the top 5% in the nation for patient safety by Healthgrades® for three years in a row (2015-2017), along with Montclair Hospital Medical Center, another member of Prime Healthcare. In the Spring of 2017, Chino Valley Medical Center was also named among the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Truven Health Analytics®, part of the IBM Watson HealthTM. Chino Valley has received this prestigious award for six years in a row.
