Chino Valley Medical Center Partners with Hidden Trails Elementary to have
Holiday Placemats Made for Patients.
December 11, 2015—Today Hidden Trails Elementary dropped off approximately
250 hand-drawn placemats to be used at Chino Valley Medical Center. Every
patient will receive a placemat, made by a child aged 6-12, with their meals.
Several weeks ago, a teacher at Hidden Trails Elementary reached out to
Chino Valley Medical Center with idea of working with them to create holiday
placemats. All children were open to participate, and many loved it so
much that they made several! "The kids enjoyed knowing that they
are spreading joy to the sick," said Marce Stouffer, Second Grade
Teacher at Hidden Trails Elementary. "This was a great chance for
our school to give back expecting nothing in return." The Director
of Food and Nutrition at CVMC, Jennifer Shehata, donated blank placemats
for the children to use. The project took several days to complete and
resulted in over 250 holiday placemats. "I hope these placemats bring
our patients delight as they think of all the happy children drawing holiday
inspired pictures just for them. It was a wonderful way to bring holiday
cheer to those who are ill," added Jennifer Shehata.
Chino Valley Medical Center would like to thank everyone at Hidden Trails
Elementary for working with them in creating holiday placemats.
