(Chino, Calif., January 17, 2017) – Chino Valley Medical Center (CVMC) reported a suspicious package found inside the facility in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 12. Chino Police Department and Ontario’s Bomb Squad investigated the package swiftly and the Emergency Department resumed services around 3a.m., less than three hours after the package was discovered.

Chino Valley Medical Center staff took swift action to evacuate patients from the Emergency Room, Radiology department, and all staff on the west-wing of the facility by relocating patients to designated safe areas of the hospital. “I am so proud of our staff for putting patient’s safety first and for taking care of each other in this event,” shares Cheryl Gilliatt, RN, MSN, MICN, and Director of the Emergency Department. “All of our procedures in place were executed.
