Chino Valley Medical Center Honors Daisy Award Recipient

On May 4th 2015, Chino Valley Medical Center presented the Daisy Nursing Recognition award to Sergei Gonzalez, a Registered Nurse, for his compassionate nursing care.

The Daisy Award is a recognition program that was founded in 1999 as a way to say "thank you" to nurses for the extraordinary jobs they do every day. The goal is to ensure that nurses understand how vital their roles are and how deserving they are of respect for the knowledge, education, training and skill they put into their care. "It is an honor to be able to participate in the DAISY Award presentations and recognize nurses like Sergei who provide extraordinary care to the patients and their loved ones every day," adds Christen Grelling, Magnet Program Director at CVMC. "It is overwhelmingly heartwarming to see patients, family members, visitors and staff express such sincere gratitude to our nurses for the work that they do. "

Sergei has been a Registered Nurse with CVMC since 2014 in the Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit (MST). This award is very special because it was submitted by the daughter of a patient and she came to the award presentation to personally thank Sergei for all he did for her mom. When the daughter was asked why she nominated him, this is what she said:

Sergei showed sincere concern for my mother during her stay. He spoke with compassion to help calm her down while continually reassured her that she was getting the best care. He clearly explained procedures that were taking place; we never had to ring the bell because he was always checking in with us and answering any questions. He helped with everything and was very professional, compassionate and gave extra effort! Sergei was on top of everything and did it with care.

Chino Valley Medical Center wants to say a big thank you to Sergei for his caring, compassionate care and contribution to the MST department.
